The Essential Services Commission (ESC) is Victoria’s independent economic regulator of electricity, gas, water, sewerage, rail freight and ports industries. It became operational when the ESC Act of 2001 was enacted into law. Today, this body protects and works for the the economic and social well-being of consumers across Victoria.

Multinet Gas, a sister company of United Energy, managed by Jemena, and 100% owned by the private sector corporation DUET is the largest gas distribution network across Victoria to residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
